Hogwarts: Home to both wizards and arduinos

So when asked to make a home for my arduino and the magnificent lights that blossomed from it, there really wasn't any other option besides making a full-scale model of the school of witchcraft and wizardry. Alright, so maybe there were other options, but Harry Potter is my jam and I think everyone can relate to it in one way or another. And the idea of electricity is basically witchcraft, so, yeah.

Physical interaction to me is the point where we use technology as an extension of our physical bodies. It means that we, as humans, are using our bodies in tandem with something completely mechanical to create something truly better. It's an extension of our humanity, trying to push evolution further than biology would regularly allow. Non-interactive technologies are things that help us, but aren't a natural step from our human bodies. I think that screens in general aren't examples of physical interactions. We sit and watch them day in and day out, but unless they are used for gesture based actions, we are honestly just kind of sitting and watching them, letting our lives waste away. And that's not helpful in an evolutionary sense.

What I hope to get out of this class is a sense of comfort in working with hardware. I'm a huge computer guy; I make videos, code a ton, and just spend a lot of time on the internet. I haven't had a class really teach me how to use my physical resources to build things, so I'm looking forward to learning about the best way to do that.
